I Made a "Button"

SHORT story:  I made my very own button and here she is!

LONG story:  I've been playing around with blogger lately and I figured out how to make a button this week. I'm so excited about this that I think it deserves it's own post.  A while ago I saw a tutorial on how to draw your own header on Made.   So I thought I'd try it out for a button.  I couldn't figure out how to save it as a picture in MS Word but I figured out that it works to save it as a picture in MS Publisher (usually comes with MS Office pack).  Plus it is way easier to manipulate the elements in Publisher. Something else that I learned is that if I saved it as a "png" file it turns out blurry on the sidebar. Saving in "gif" format made for a crisper pic when I posted it on the sidebar. Not sure why that is or if everyone has that problem.   Edited: I just looked at the button through the Firefox browser.  It somehow renders it super grainy, but on Chrome it looks nice. I guess it's back to the drawing board. ugh!

After I drew it I figured out how to post it as a button by grabbing someone else's html code and inputting my own links to the picture and the blog.   I got a little book on html code and read up on some of the definitions.   It's just like learning a language.

The next thing that stumped me was how to get that little scroll box to hold the button code so someone could grab it.  Then coincidentally, I found a tutorial for doing just that on Sew Happy Geek.

And now, if your heart desires, you can grab my button!!
I feel like I have stumbled onto the tip of the iceberg with understanding a little bit of HTML.  It's kind of exciting!  I know that HTML is ancient history but it's little successes like these that totally make my week!!

Hoping to get my machine back soon.  Happy Sewing!!
