Room Shoes

My sewing machine is working again! Thankfully it was just a worn out spring.   This week I was able to finish a little pair of "room shoes" for myself.

Really they are house slippers to keep my toes warm on chilly nights.   I stumbled across I Think Sew  around Christmas time and bought myself a couple of patterns when they were half off.  I bought a couple of handbag patterns from the as well that I'm excited to try out.  For these shoes I used the Olivia Women's Shoe pattern.

They sew together pretty quickly.  I lined the interior with fleece to make them a little more cozy.

See the little seam on the inner side of the shoe?  That's a little sewing adjustment you can make if the shoe seems to slip on your heel.  It totally works, though if I made these again, I might add a little elastic to the heel or make the adjustment internally before finishing the shoe.

The fabric is from the Loulouthi  line by Anna Maria Horner.
I love the pink and brown combo with just enough orange to make it exciting.

It will be chilly this weekend, but I will have cozy toes!

  5. Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I think they would make a great gift.

Liz, these really sew together fast. Maybe at most 1 1/2 hours start to finish with cutting.
