3 Free Little Boy Tie patterns: Sew a tie for a Holiday!

Halloween little boys tie

Halloween is on Sunday this year!

Which means I'll be adding some Halloween fabric to our Sunday attire.  I'm sewing up fun Halloween neckties this week for my boys to wear with some left over Halloween Bats fabric. And for the girls, stitch up a cute Tie scrunchie to top off a pony tail with this Tie Scrunchie tutorial.

Here's a fun photo from an old post  when all the little boys got to wear matching Halloween ties to church.  Including some scary monster faces! (click on over to see the cute candy corn skirt my daughter wore)  I don't think I have much of a chance to get my boys to pose for a redo of this shot, but it would be fun.

For these ties I used this free tutorial from Purl Soho

I had a few technical difficulties.  My tie shape consistently ended up to be too wide for the interfacing pattern, so I had to cut a new interfacing for the two big boys' ties.   I didn't want the littlest ones to be as wide, so I narrowed the main fabric pattern a little to match the interfacing pattern that it came with and it turned out perfectly. This was years ago though. These days I usually grab an old tie  and make my own pattern to use. My suggestion is always use interfacing!!

I also went a little crazy one year and sewed up matching ties and skirts for St. Patricks day!
