Handmade Gifts to Sew for Dad

Handmade Gifts to Sew for Dad

The men in my life are the hardest to sew for. They don't like all the cute little things I usually like to sew, and obviously pretty floral fabrics are a big 'no'. But if you change the fabrics to solids or heavier utility fabrics you can easily make a project more manly.  One year I sewed big zipper pouches and toiletry bags for all my brothers and they were a hit.  Here's a round up of ideas to help you get those creative juices flowing

Summer Sewing Inspiration: Easy Summer Tote Remake

Today I want to share with you my favorite piece of advice...  Don't be afraid to try something new! Don't be afraid to experiment! Even if you fail, you'll always learn something along the way. And if you succeed there is no greater sense of accomplishment.  One of my favorite things to do is take a tutorial and put my own spin on it.  I have a little example to show you today of how I did just that with my old Summer Tote tutorial.

Sewing Saves the Day: Football Jersey Fix

Make a football jersey bigger
Hi there Today I'm kicking off a new sewing series on my blog. It's called Sewing Saves the Day! Today I'll show you how to fix a football jersey. One of my favorite things about sewing is that I can use it to fix problems, make my kids dreams come true, and just make my life easier in general. Mostly I feel like these practical projects aren't very blog worthy topics because I may not use pretty fabric or the finished results aren't very visually interesting. But there are so many times when sewing really does save the day.  So I'm going to start sharing them. For my first practical project I want to share a football jersey fix.
