Presenting Jack Skellington! It has been a whirlwind over here since I got back from Quilt Market (pictures to come soon I promise!) and I basically hit the ground running as soon as I got off the plane, but lets get to the real story...Halloween Costumes! I love making Halloween Costumes! This year I was a bit pressed for time so I'm thankful only one of my kids requested a specific costume that needed sewing up.
This was so fun to make!

I made it the night before Halloween and finished it during the day while he was at school. I was seriously crossing my fingers that it fit. I'm so glad that it did.

Want the details? I made the pants with the Clean Slate Pants pattern (which I loved and will be making again, with all the pockets and zipper fly next time). I made the jacket using my self drafted Ben 10 jacket pattern. I just altered it to fit where I needed it. I painted on the lines using fabric paint and strips of tape.  The painting came out a little sketchy but perfect for this animated character I'd say.
I had to to fiddle around a little to the lapels to look right, though I'm not sure I could replicate what I did.

My favorite part was the bat bowtie. I fused some fabric together and cut out the wings and then sews a tiny bat face stuffy and hot glued it on. The bat is hot glued to a loop of elastic.

I love this happy little Pumpkin King!

Hope your Halloween was as fun as ours!
