Project Runway ended last week. I was a little shocked that Gretchen won and a little sad that Mondo didn't. I mean, is "bohemian" really where fashion is headed Mr. Kohrs?  As my own little tribute to Mondo I sewed up this little bag.  I found the plaid on the remnant rack a while ago.  I love remnants!

Anyway if it were in true Mondo style it might should have had a turquois or pink button in the center of the flower.

There is a little turquoise inside though on my little label.

I was also browsing the Kate Spade website the other day and was fascinated by the handle construction of this cute little bag.  I often look at professionally made bags and wonder how they put things together.

So here's my take on it.  The construction of the rest of the bag is a little different. I used some fake leather I had for the handles and a silky decorator remnant for the body.

Here's how the inside turned out. Double magnet clasps were Doug's idea as the solution to how to keep it closed without disrupting the shape of the body.  They work great!

As usual, my pictures don't do these bags justice. Please excuse me... I'll be looking for Photography class shortly.

My SIL Becky asked me to do a little bag tutorial for her so look for that coming soon.  Bye for now.

  1. Thanks! I made the tags with iron on transfer paper. I ironed the logo onto wide ribbon. I really need to get some professionally printed but, you know, that takes precious time.
