I sewed up another dress for Meredith using the pattern I made from our first Dress Mash Up. I made a few alterations in the pattern for this one. We totally love how it turned out!! Isn't the fabric fabulous? She picked it out from Girl Charlee.  It's one of their Ponte de Roma knits.

If you haven't sewn with a lot of knits, Ponte de Roma fabric is very beginner friendly.  I love it because it is thicker than your average jersey knit and a little less stretchy.  It doesn't roll along the cut edge which makes sewing the seams together much easier.

For this time around I added a little more length on the sleeves, and took a little in at the waist of the bodice.  I also shortened the bodice by 2 inches. I think we could go another inch up and still be okay.

This one was a success!

With our dress making adventures we are aiming for dresses that are modest, comfortable, and stylish. I think this one hit everything on the list. Yay!
