When Bonnie of Fishsticks Design asked me to review a pattern from her new Jersey Love series and told me I'd get to play with the new Riley Blake Cotton Jersey Knit, how could I say no?  Jack has been telling me he needs new shorts. So of course I chose to make the Runaround Pants pattern.  I love this pattern!

There are so many options here.  You can make shorts, capris, or pants... with a ton of pocket options to play with too! The pattern also has the full range of sizes from 12mo-14y! I'll definitely be using it again. One of my favorite parts about these Jersey Love patterns is that they play up the natural curl of the fabric.  There is no hemming to waste time with so you can spend your extra time layering on a pocket or three.

And oh the pockets!  They are pretty much the focus of every picture. I chose to use the front pocket and one side pocket but the pattern has couple more pocket options as well.

Let me just say a little something about this Riley Blake Jersey fabric.  It is seriously the nicest knit I've ever worked with. Its 95% Cotton 5% Spandex.  It feels so buttery and smooth with just the right amount of stretch.

Jack says his pants feel like pajamas. Making running around, even more comfortable.

Somehow I didn't get a picture of the waistband but it is just a strip of knit. No elastic required! Though you could slip some in if they feel a little loose. This really is one easy pants pattern.

If you haven't sewn with Bonnie's Patterns yet you should just know that she really does a great job of explaining each step. She gives plenty of pictures and tips so that even a beginner can be successful.

I don't really have  a lot of experience working with knits but a great pattern paired with great fabric made really made my experience a great one. Jack loves his shorts and now Luke wants a pair just like them.  I better get on that!

Now Bonnie is generously offering the chance for you to win this pattern too!. Just scroll down to enter. To see more lovely versions of these Jersey Love Patterns hop on over and take a look at the other stops on the tour! There are likely to be more chances to win one along the way.
