Are you sewing along with Sew Can She

The challenge is to use the Herringbone quilt block tutorial by Bijou Lovely and create whatever you want with it.  Here are my fabric stacks.

I really want to make a quilt for my bed.  It's kind of a big undertaking though.  I've been thinking about it for while and I'm thinking this will be the little push and deadline I need to get me to do it. You know how I always need a deadline. 🙂

I love how the original quilt is so colorful and random, so that is what I'm going for.  I have very little experience picking out quilt colors so who knows how it will turn out.  I'm pretty sure I don't have enough fabric so, once I have everything cut, I'll probably add in a few more. Here are my first couple of blocks.

I'm taking my stacks with me when I fly home tomorrow.  I'm crossing my fingers that at least I get it all cut and a few more blocks sewn together.

We will be stitching up a storm in Colorado this weekend. Wish me luck!

  1. Love those colors together! How fun! I do love the look of the herringbonbe blocks but quilting still seems quite daunting, your blocks look lovely, can't wait to see how the whole quilt turns out.
