I think every little 4 year old girl needs a little Mermaiden like this.

Wee Wonderfuls is offering this cute free pattern on the Martha Stewart Crafts website to kick off their new book.  I saw The Girl Who Quilts make it a little while ago and couldn't resist sewing one up for my little niece.  I love this little pattern.  It is so cute how it goes together.  You essentially make the hair and tail and put them on like clothes.

Inspired by its construction, I improvised and made a little boy for little brother.  The funnest part of the boy was making the jeans with all the stitching. (Finished, the dolls are about 6 inches tall.) Thank you Wee Wonderfuls! I'm very tempted to check out that book and sew up more cute lovable dollies. It is so cute sewing in miniature. I can see why my mom loves making doll clothes and patterns so much.
