My New Pillow case

While I was in Colorado this summer my sister convinced me that I needed to buy the "best pillow ever".  So I did. It's a deluxe down alternative pillow from Costco.  It has all the dreaminess of down with none of the allergy.

We don't have Costcos here so I would have to buy it there and shove it into my suitcase to get it home. Unfortunately my littlest guy broke his leg while we were there.  Fortunately he needed a padded ride home and I had just the pillow to do the job.

My sister graciously let me use one of her newly made pillow cases for the ride home because it fit my new extra long pillow.

It was one of her favorites and I know she would like it back.    So I finally made myself a pillowcase to fit my new pillow.  Rachel, I'll be sending yours back soon.

I used the Amy Butler Soul Blossoms fabrics I found on sale at my local quilt shop and paired them with one from Anna Maria Horner's Innocent Crush.   My sister explained her fancy way of putting it together to me but you can make a pillowcase like this using this tutorial.

My new pretty pillowcase is making me contemplate making a new quilt for my bed.  Do I dare take on that big of a project??
