It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superbaby!  Okay I couldn't resist.   One of Luke's little friends just became a big brother.   To help him adjust to his new baby sister I made him a baby he could care for on his own.  Of course he loves all things superhero, so I made him a Superbaby with a little quilt to wrap him up in.

This was such a fun project to make.  After I had the idea I searched for a superhero baby on Etsy and then made my own version. I made him a diaper that he can open and a cape to dress him up.

The cape is a miniature version of the one I made for max years ago.  Sewing things in miniature is so fun.

Instead of cutting a tiny "S" out of fusible fabric I drew it onto fabric with puffy paint and then cut the diamond around it to the right size.

The cape got a little puckered when I sewed it on. Oh well, next time I'll use some stabilizer.

...and of course he needed a bag to hold it all in so I made one with his letter on it

Now I'm having vision of a line of superhero babies.  Luke requested a baby Hulk.  I just might make him one. After all you are only 4 once.

  2. This is so adorable! I'm wishing we knew some one who's pregnant or having a birthday so I would have an excuse to make one. I may have to get started on Christmas presents.
