I finished my Headband/Earwarmer this week. I'm so excited to have this project done and have a cute hat to wear on our cold nights.  I think it's funny to see a winter hat next to such pretty green but it's Florida.

Here's a close up of the flower.  My favorite part of course.  I also like that it looks like a hat but it's not.

And this is how it closes in the back.

I made the Headband using this Winter Star Stitch Headband Earwarmer pattern from Tanya'sTangles.
This was my first time ever following a crochet pattern.  I discovered a whole world of lingo that I didn't know existed.  It can be tricky to trying to decipher the code sometimes.   I learned how to crochet when I was little, but for a refresher on how to do the stitches I searched You Tube and found the KnitWitch.  She had a video of all the stitches and gives sometimes give general pattern reading advice in the comments below the video.

For the yarn I used the left over from my Halloween wreath. It might look a little prettier with nicer yarn, but
I like it anyway.  My stylist Mer (who was also my photographer) thinks I should be wearing my hair up when I wear this.  I'll try that next time.

Sadly, my sewing machine is currently in the shop.  It died a week ago.  I'm hoping it's a quick fix because I bought some other patterns I'm anxious to sew up and some baby gifts too.

Bye for now!!

  1. I'm so impressed!! I didn't realize you crocheted, and well enough to read a pattern. Awesome!! Totally cute ear warmer. Too bad we don't live closer. I have a spare machine you could borrow.
